What Religious Life is all about
Six issues per year
To help religious and laity foster a more effective understanding and practice of the Church's teaching on the consecrated life, IRL publishes Religious Life magazine. It is educational, informative and inspirational, focusing on the wondrous gift of the consecrated life for the life and mission of the Church.
Religious Life features articles on the Catholic faith, the spiritual life, writings of the Holy Father and other pertinent subjects, and:
- profiles of IRL affiliated communities, "Affiliate in Focus"
- periodic book reviews "Resources in Review"
- "InnerView," an interview column highlighting interesting
people and apostolates.
- and news briefs, "IRL News & Notes."

The Kind of Articles Found in Religious Life
What kind of material will you find in Religious Life? One issue of Religious Life was devoted to the Sacred Liturgy and other developments in the Church, such as a new Benedictine monastery which was reintroduced to its founder's city. Also featured was an article on honoring God through the Sacred Liturgy and Gregorian chant. A recent issue told about religious women in the military (did you know they were nurses in the Civil War?). Other issues have featured religious and the March for Life, the significance of the religious habit, and inspiring vocation testimonies.
