One of the criticisms of this current generation is that we do not like to make commitments. We are so accustomed to getting our own way—exercising our freedom however we want—that we shy away from anything that may seem to limit our choices.
Yet we know that true happiness can only come by finding, following and fulfilling God's plan for our lives. And that means a commitment because we cannot go “halfway” with God. It's all or nothing!
Have you ever considered the priesthood or consecrated life? Do you think that God may be calling you to serve Him with “an undivided heart”? Such decisions can be tough. It is not always easy to discover and discern His will for our lives.
To help in this process, Christ gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit whose primary mission is make us holy. Yet we need to invoke the Spirit's assistance to enlighten our minds and enliven our wills to take action!
What's the best way to prepare yourself to know what is God's will in your life, why you should do God's will, and how you are to conform your will to His? By making a retreat. All the great spiritual writers have always suggested this.

A retreat is a time to get away from the daily routine and spend time with God in silence and solitude. It's a chance to focus our attention on things that really matter—and then make some decisions in order to redirect our lives towards Jesus.
It's nice to be able to go away for a retreat, but this is not always possible. Family, school, work and other obligations can keep us from doing what we know we ought or would like to do.
The Vocation Online Retreat is designed for people—like yourself—who want to make a retreat but aren't able to get away. You can make a vocation discernment retreat without leaving your home, office or dorm.
The retreat requires you set aside only 20-30 minutes per day of reading and reflecting upon the daily meditations that will be emailed to you. You may want to do it at the beginning of each day so your can ponder the meditation throughout the entire day. All you need to do is step aside and allow the Holy Spirit to work!
The Vocation Online Retreat is a series of self-directed eight-day journeys of discovery and discernment that you can do alone—or even invite a friend or group of friends to do with you. Along with a daily Scripture reading and short meditation on a particular theme, there are some points to ponder and a short closing prayer. It couldn't be any easier!
