Mission
The Congregation of the Norbertine Sisters is one of the branches on the tree of the Norbertine Order. We live according to the age-old inspiration of St. Norbert and the Rule of St. Augustine. Our Congregation is a contemplative-active community where everyday life is centered around Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Divine Office, and Veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Through these sacred channels and living together in community, we aspire to become one in mind and heart on the way to God.
In the spirit of our founder St. Norbert who instructed “be prepared for every good work,” we are not bound to any specific apostolate but are opened to embrace different needs of the Church. Thus far, our service extends to teaching in Catholic schools, the Poverty Program, a ministry dedicated to serving low-income families, the Parish Catholic Bookstore.
Qualifications
Candidates must be healthy, between ages 18 to 30, a sincere and upright disposition, fidelity to the Holy Father and the teachings of the Catholic Church; maturity to undertake and continue religious formation.
Formation
One-year postulancy; two-year novitiate; six years in temporary vows prior to perpetual profession of vows. First three years of formation period are spent under the direction of the director of novices at the formation house.
