Mission
In 1956, even before Vatican Council II, Our Founder, Archbishop John Mark Gannon and our Founding Superior, Mother Patricia O'Connor anticipated the needs of the Church in coming years. Together they began a new American foundation which would adapt to the needs of the times while maintaining the deep spiritual foundations of the Consecrated Life. Under the guidance of the Divine Spirit, they envisioned the community actively cooperating in the spread of the Catholic faith by aiding in the spiritual growth of the Christian family. The Sisters' focus is on ministries (especially teaching) to the young and to care for the Aged, thereby reaching all levels of the Christian family. The Sisters, taking their name from the Divine Spirit live in docility to Him, foster devotion to Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit and to the Eucharist.
