Mission
The spirituality of this religious congregation of priests and brothers draws its inspiration from its founder, Blessed Antonio Rosmini. The ideal of "universal charity" underlies the Rosminian way of life, which emphasizes a desire to live closer to Christ and His teaching by trusting completely in Divine Providence and the love of God. The Rosminian apostolate worldwide is varied. In the U.S. it is mostly parish work.
Qualifications
Single Catholic men who desire to know and do God's will, serve Christ and His Church, and grow in the trust of God.
Formation
Formation begins with postulancy, which is followed by a two-year novitiate. The first year is the canonical formation year with a spiritual emphasis, and this is accompanied in the second year by further apostolic and cultural formation. After the novitiate, the individual is admitted to temporary profession where vows are normally taken for three years. Final profession follows. With the Rosminians, studies for the priesthood come under the vow of obedience. The initiative therefore comes from one's superiors and not from the brother himself. Some Rosminians remain as brothers and do not pursue priestly ordination.
