Mission
The Oblates to the Blessed Trinity is a contemplative/active congregation of diocesan right, which follows the charism and spirituality of the Servant of God, Mother Margherita Diomira Crispi. The principal goal of the Congregation is to foster unity in the life of each member, particularly through the assiduous contemplation of the Blessed Trinity. Their special charism is accented in the motto “Deus Caritas” which means “God is love.”
In keeping with their charism of love, the Oblates find in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament the perfect moment for an intimate encounter with Jesus. The prayer life of the sisters includes daily participation in the Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, spiritual reading, and meditation. The apostolic spirit of the members of the congregation flows from the love of God. The sisters use their talents to spread the Good News through education, catechesis, pastoral ministry, Hispanic apostolate, and care of the poor and elderly.
Qualifications
The Congregation accepts Catholic women who manifest a desire to consecrate themselves to God, and who possess the necessary aptitude to live the spirit of the Congregation and dedicate themselves to its apostolate. They must also have good mental and physical health, common sense and generosity, at least a high school diploma and be at least 18 years old.
Formation
Formation consists in guiding and assisting the candidates in the growth of human, spiritual and religious values that contribute to the development of a religious vocation. The Postulancy is a period of preparation for the Novitiate. Its duration is from six months to a year. The Novitiate holds an indispensable place in formation and lasts two years. The first year is known as the canonical year, a period of intense spiritual formation and study. During the second year of Novitiate, the novices will begin experiencing the ministry life of the Oblates together with professed sisters. The Juniorate is the period of temporary vows during which the newly professed Sisters integrate themselves further into the community. It is also the time of preparation for the total self-giving of the religious to God through the profession of perpetual vows. The period of temporary vows is from five to nine years. In this stage of formation, the Sisters strive to deepen and live their consecration to God while they continue their doctrinal, professional and apostolic preparation.
