Mission
The Order of the Canons Regular of the Holy Cross is a both contemplative and active; it is a community of pontifical right, composed of priests and brothers. We are gathered about the Crucified and Eucharistic Lord, who is our life and our love, for whom we have abandoned the world and its attractions, and consecrated ourselves by embracing His life style, the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience. Our Order is deeply Marian as well: we want to imitate Mary and love her dearly. Our religious life receives a specific mark through our consecration to the Holy Angels: in communion with them and following their example, we adore, contemplate and are sent.
We are dedicated to solemn Liturgy, Eucharistic adoration, the contemplation of God’s mysteries and the expiation of sins for the salvation of souls. We celebrate the weekly Passio Domini, in which we follow Jesus in His love for the Father and His immense “thirst” for the salvation of mankind.
Our mission is the salvation of souls, be it in the administration of sacraments, but particularly by means of preaching missions and retreats in the spirit of the Opus Angelorum. We want to help in a special way the sanctification of priests and religious. Providing for our seminarians a genuinely Catholic formation in philosophy and theology faithful to the Magisterium of the Church based on a solid Catholic spirituality is very important to us.
Brothers and priests live together in community in a joyful family spirit.
