Mission
Our earnest desire is to live the religious life faithfully, and to teach the Faith correctly and courageously. We strive to do this by offering our lives, works and prayers, that our Catholic people of all ages will come to know their Faith again, what it means to be a Catholic, to live a Catholic life. Apostolically, we live this by teaching the Catholic Faith in Catechism classes, schools, retreats and other opportunities to lead children, young people or adults to a deeper living of their Faith. We also reach out to the elderly in our apostolate of retirement care, to help care for their spiritual and emotional needs, and prepare them for eternity. Our spirituality is Eucharistic, with a daily Holy Hour, and deeply Marian.
Qualifications
Adequate physical and mental health, a right intention, a spirit of sacrifice, an inclination for the community apostolate, ability to live community life, sound judgment and strength of will, and high school education.
Formation
The initial formation period is spent within the Formation Community at Annunciation Motherhouse in Glen Morris, Ontario, Canada, beginning with three months of candidacy, followed by one year postulancy and two years of novitiate. The first year of novitiate is the canonical year, spent at the Motherhouse and the second is an apostolic year where the novice spends a period of time experiencing the community's apostolates, returning to the Formation Community for the last two months of the year in preparation for first vows. Temporary vows are renewed each year for five years before the profession of final vows.
