Visitation Monastery of Toledo
The Visitation, a contemplative order, was founded by St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal "to give to God daughters of prayer, and souls so interior that they may be found worthy to serve His infinite majesty and to adore Him in spirit and in truth." Prayer is primary in the life of the sisters. We also offer limited retreats, and seek to make known and loved the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We honor Our Lady in the mystery of her visitation.
Desire for life of prayer within the cloister; ability to live a community life; sufficient health and maturity to embrace the monastic life.
Formation consists of postulancy, novitiate, temporary profession, and then solemn profession.
